I love unique business ideas and always smile when I see yet another idea I had never thought of or I think is simple but clever.
Sarah Brockett a lady who hails from Michigan in the USA has come up with an interesting baking idea.
Actually, she doesn’t run a bakery at all at this stage which is great because she is just like most of you passionate hobby bakers she is trying ideas out and having a go, instead of just talking about it.
They are also vegan bakes which is very much on trend.
I think her photographs make it obvious about what she does and I think it is genius on her part.
I bet there are loads of people out there who would love to purchase a cheesecake boldly stating Liar in luscious buttercream and sending it to their cheating partner at the office on a Monday morning.
That would get the team talking about the weekend wouldn’t it and not just about the football!
She doesn’t just do horrible icing, not everyone has a shit list as she puts it so she also creates a few raunchy baked goods as well for people who want something just a little different.
Sarah’s thoughts, “Sometimes crude humour and chocolate cake are all you need to get by in life”
Here are a selection of some of her most popular bakes...
I imagine this one goes down well with cheating partners.
So many people, so few cookies!
You would have to be really angry and really brave to send this one!
You can combine several interests and come up with something unique to you and people will love it and probably pay for handsomely as well. Sarah has demonstrated there is money in obscenities.
Sarah clearly loves baking and probably so do you but you don’t need to spend all that money opening an actual shop.
You just start small, trial your ideas, get feedback, adapt and keep moving. She hasn't said "well I can't open a bakery therefore I cannot bake" which is what a lot of people do to sabotage their ideas.
People like unusual things to talk about with their friends and the Bold Bakery certainly gives you that!
The media loves unusual and you could get endless free marketing out of something like this.
I hope Sarah has given you some inspiration.
You don't have to be a baker to get something out of her story, you could be a graphic designer, or an artist or a woodworker even.
I think the market for Fuck You's could be really lucrative of you are a maker/creative of some sort.
You can find Sarah and her graphic design business online.
